OK, so Celtic starts with C not K… It does sound like it starts with a K! This is a simplified version of a very popular, traditional Celtic appliqué design… But with a Lyn Brown twist!
Here is our K block. We are really moving through these blocks. If you are not caught up, don’t get left behind. These are really fun blocks and the quilt is going to a wonderful reflection of the quiltmaking world today!

Sorry this is late. Been under the weather. Will probably be late with the next installment of the Spring Medallion as well. My apologies. But here is our J block.
I was at a local antique store recently and came across this collection of aged irons. The iron is an iconic symbol, for better or worse, closely linked to women’s work. Quilters, too, are closely linked to our irons. They perk up our seams, fuse our appliqué and steam our blocks til they lie flat.
Isn’t this FUN? I’m really enjoying these blocks! Imagine when the quilt is finished. Images of each iconic letter of the alphabet and their interesting interpretations as part of our Quilting World! Ingenious!
I have been going round and round on what our H block should be… Half hexagons? But we just did Gramdmas Glorious Garden with lots of hexes. I got some wonderful suggestions from the comments on last weeks post but then it came to me! Hawaiian Hibiscus Appliqué! Heavenly!
I want to thank everyone who acknowledged that I am moving toward posting just the outline of our blocks to save on ink and wear and tear. I will try to be consistent in this. This “H” block is nice and bold.
Grandma’s Flower Garden is the quintescient quilt pattern. So beautiful with all those neat little hexagons and so difficult with all those neat little hexagons! But how could I not include Grandma’s Glorious Garden as our G block? This is surely a historic block and will undoubted enjoy continued popularity.
