Ohhh… I love this dove! I co-opted it from the LynBrown.com logo. And in some renditions of the logo, there is a bit of scroll work on the wing of the dove. One of the scrolls looks like a script L. So I thought…
Oh Boy! Oh Boy! It’s time for another Do You See…? block! The Holly Wreath, evergreen and hardy, represents long life and strength in the harshest of conditions.
The flicker of candlelight on Christmas Eve represents to me that solitary moment when the hustle bustle of the season settles down into a deep contentment. Anticipation hangs in the air but in this moment, the whole season can be savored and Faith, Family and Fun come together gloriously!
Bells provide the sound of the Holidays, don’t you think? Church Bells and Door Bells, Jingle Bells and Sleigh Bells, their sounds herald in the season.
A beautifully wrapped package is a gift in itself. And when it’s a block in a quilt, it’s a thing of beauty forever.
We did a Swan Ornament for our Ornament of the Month Club last month. It was so cute, I had to include it in this quilt as well. I’ve resized it a bit, but it retains the atmosphere of the original block found in a vintage child’s quilt.
The poinsettia is the traditional flower of Christmas with its wonderful red foliage! And today, there are so many variations that there is a plethora of poinsettia shades and patterns! What color will you make your Poinsettia block?
Here’s a different kind of Christmas Scene… An outdoor decorated tree! And Do You See Grandmother’s house in the distance? Those bare trees are inked on the sample, but you are free to embroider them by hand or machine.
