When I think of Iowa, I think of three things: Radar O’Reilly, American Pickers and agriculture… Corny, Cornball and CORN! So our modern Iowa block mixes little bit of the Iowa flag and a modern, minimalist interpretation of an Iowa cornfield.

Idaho is more than potatoes. It is wide open spaces and lots of history, beautiful vistas and gorgeous rivers. 60% of Idaho land is held by the National Forest Service or the Bureau of Land Management and contains some of the largest unspoiled areas in the lower 48 states.
Hawaii… Beautiful Hawaii! I visited there many years ago, but the memory remains with me. Beautiful beaches, lovely landscapes and revitalizing relaxation! Such a gorgeous place! And Hawaii has a rich quilting history!
Many years ago, near the end of WWII, my folks spent their honeymoon in Georgia. Throughout their marriage, they spoke glowingly of their time there. I’ve always wanted to visit there and one day I shall. In the meantime, I present my States of Modern Georgia block.
Delaware, one of the original 13 colonies and our first state! It is 1,954 square miles and is our second smallest state after Rhode Island. Delaware is a low lying state with its highest point, Ebright Azimuth, just 450 feet above sea level!

Here in my home state of California, we have an abundance of natural wonders. Mountains, lakes, streams, beautiful sky, desert, shoreline, ocean. But the thing that people think about when they think about California all over the world is the man-made golden gate bridge.
