Terrific Tea Towel Thoughts

That is, thoughts on what to do with terrific Tea Towels! I’ve been prowling the net again, looking for Terrific Tea Towel texts! And boy! Did I find some! Of course, I’ll start with my own projects…

Last year I posted tea-towel-placemats that are EASY to make and a sweet tea-towel-pouch that is wonderful made out of an antique embroidered towel or a trendy new towel.

And this whole Tea Towel obsession was begun with the tea-towel-apron. Aprons are handy any time and especially welcome this time of year!

I enjoyed making these projects.
But then I started my on-line prowl and here is what I found…

A useful and adorable Lunch Sack

An absorbent Bath Mat

A very cute kitchen rug

And just a whole bunch of great Tea Towel ideas...

Then I started to think of all the simple things to be made from these wonderful bits of cotton…
How about a seasonal Doll Quilt? Pillowcase a Holiday Tea Towel with a scrap of minkee and finish with some decorative stitching for a quick Doll Quilt any little girl would love to have!

Or make a Tea Towel Pillow… You can  stitch a muslin sack any size to fit to hold the stuffing for a completely custom (but Quick!) pillow.
Have a worn towel but the bit of embroidery or design is still good? Use the good part to make a tree ornament. Back the design with a scrap (Or another part of the towel!), tuck in a bit of ribbon before stitching together or stitch on a loop of embroidery floss after the ornie is complete to make a hanging loop.

And while you are in the mood, Check out all we have been doing here at LynBrown.com…
