This week, you should be ready to put the quilt center together. I’m posting the instructions so when you finish the 9-Patches you’ll be all set!
This week, at long last, we move on from those small 3 1/2″ 9 Patch Blocks to the Large 9 1/2″ 9 In 9 blocks and really get a feel for how the whole quilt will turn out!
Have you finished the first group of 9-Patches for this quilt? Aren’t they cute? This week to continue our journey, we make a second set of 9-Patches… with slightly different colors.
This week, start a new journey with me as we make the Nostalgic 9 In 9 quilt. This very traditional quilt has a modern look with white background and multi hued solid patches…
As the Spring Semester draws to a close next week (with, hopefully, a huge Show and Tell in each class!) my thoughts have turned to the fall. After discussing possible projects with my students, we settled on the Nostalgic 9 In 9 as our fall project.
Something about the Nine Patch completely encapsulates Quiltmaking. It is geometry, fabric and craft all rolled together. So the 9 In 9 is a perfect representation of the letter “N” in our Quilters Alphabet.
