Spring Medallion: Pieced Scallop Border Part 1

Quite often, lovely quilts have beautiful appliquéd Scallop borders… Which got me thinking… Could a scallop border be pieced?

Really, this border is a variation of the traditional chain block. The curve is formed by turning alternate blocks 180 degrees. But all the blocks are the same, even the corners! And they can be strip pieced!

So this week we are making the blocks and we will leave it to next week to apply them to the quilt.

Here is the PDF: Medallion Quilt Pieced Scallop Blocks (Corrected- Added Pressing Info – 4/21 at 12:45 PT And on 4/23 at 6:30 am PT Cutting of Bright, Dark and Small Print should be 2 only.)
