Quilter’s Alphabet Block of the Week: Kelly Celtic Knot

OK, so Celtic starts with C not K… It does sound like it starts with a K!
This is a simplified version of a very popular, traditional Celtic appliqué design… But with a Lyn Brown twist!

The pattern is for a fused block to be traced off and fused down.  Many quilters do this block with a skinny bias strip (about 60″) by hand and actually “weave” the strip into a knot.  If you wish to do this, the intersections are noted on the PDF.

Now don’t miss all the other patterns available on this site. If  you need any previous Quilter’s Alphabet patterns, check the archives.  And browse around the whole site for lots of other free patterns.  We are working on the Spring Medallion, our 2012 series of Doll Quilts and lots of swap patterns!  And there are even  more Patterns on my Etsy site.

And coming soon will be our 2012 Summer Mystery quilt (Supply list will be up the first week of June), our Fall Quilt which will be a glorious and historic Burgoyne Surrounded and the beautiful Iris Quilt.  Lots of great things are happening at LynBrown.com.

For now, here is the PDF for the Kelly Celtic Knot Quilter’s Alphabet block…
