Forty-Eight Carats Swap Quilt

It is time for another swap in my NOCCCD Classes in Cypress, Fullerton, Buena Park, Anaheim and Yorba Linda, CA.  This time we are swapping Red Orange and Yellow Orange 8″ squares.  And we are making this very cute 48 Carats quilt.

It’s a great looking quilt and so quick and easy!  66″ X 84″ and the blocks have just 4 pieces!  Wow!

See how easy this is?  Just trim the swapped square (or cut the squares from Fat Quarters (18″ X 20″), Long Quarters (9″ X 40″) or Scraps!) then snowball one corner and add background strips to two sides.  That’s it! And then the blocks are set Block to Block… No sashing or anything.  And the quilt just sparkles, don’t you think? The link to the 48 Carats Pattern PDF is at the end of this post.

Of course, we’ve done lots of swaps this year.  We are working on swapping every color of the rainbow… and then some… to make our 2012 Rainbow Triangle quilt.  See below for more info on the other swaps and swap patterns…
