Finishing Up The States Of Modern Quilt

Ok. You have a choice on how to set your States Of Modern blocks. There have been 48 blocks patterned. So you could set those in a 6 x 8 set for a quilt the finishes about 74 x 96 OR you can add this new American Flag block and have 49 blocks set 7 X 7 for an 85″ x 85″ quilt.
The American Flag block is the perfect compliment to all our State blocks and is easy to make as well!

States Square

Notice the American Flag block in the upper right hand corner of the design.  The pattern for this final block is given in the finishing PDF.

America

If you don’t want a square quilt, or don’t want to make the American Flag block, you can set the 48 blocks given as below…

States Long

I really like putting the blocks with a lot of white in the center of the quilt, but you are free, obviously to set them any way you choose.  Highlight the states you’ve lived in or where you’ve visited or simply in alphabetic order, however you like. It’s your quilt! Make it Wonderful!

A Note About The Above Layouts…

Some of the blocks are slightly different (or incomplete) in the mock ups above, but there should be enough information to let you set the blocks.

Thank you for following along.  If you got off-track during the year, it’s not too late to dive back into this project. All the blocks are still free in the Archives. What a wonderful salute to our magnificent country!
