Fanciful Floral FourSquare Quilt Block September Scattered Leaves
Our September block, as you can see, deviates a bit from the rest of the blocks in this quilt. All our previous blocks have had a lattice or a wreath or, well, at least some sort of shape upon which the design was built. There is no structural support on this block.
But that is SO right for this block! The leaves of Autumn are just scattered across the quadrants of the block! Perfect!
We are just coming into the blustery, beautiful season of Autumn. Soon the leaves will be swirling, the days will get shorter and, hopefully, the temperature will drop (It’s over 90 degrees here today!). This block captures the different leaves scattered all around on a Fall day as leaves of all kinds of trees whirl around together. I can feel a snap in the air already! Have fun choosing fabrics for this block. I used about six different prints(in the whole block) in warm colors and with different textures in an effort to mimic the windblown look of an Autumn day…
