Burgoyne Surrounded – Week Seven – Finishing

This quilt honors those who have fought for our country. Beginning with those brave men in Revolutionary times and following through to our brave troops today. Their sacrifice has kept our country enduring for 236 years. Of course this quilt recalls the victory of the Americans at Saratoga. That battle has been called one of the ten most important battles in world history. It was a turning point in our battle for independence and thus vital to the formation of the United States of America.

This week we do the satisfying job of putting all the blocks together. I thought it would be a lot easier to add all those 1″ finished squares of the first border to the sashing pieces before assembling the quilt rather than having pieced strips of 1 1/2″ by 70″ or more. So that’s how I have written the instructions. We’ve already done most of the work… Strips of 15 squares have been made as well as some twelve patches to fill in the gaps.
All the instructions to complete the quilt are in the PDF found at the END of this post!

So follow along (Carefully!) and soon your Burgoyne Surrounded quilt will be complete! Congratulations!
