Block Butler

We have been fortunate in our classes for the generous donation of these cardboard rolls by some very dear friends.  They are industrial strength shrink wrap rolls and I had to think a while on how to use them.  This block butler is easy to make (once you know the trick!) and keeps your blocks very nice when traveling to class or to guild meetings or whereever!  If you are not a class member, the pattern is easily adaptable to the rolls you can get at the Post office for shipping posters and the like… or you could also use the rolls that decorative fabric comes on. Just ask at your local fabric store then cut down to the needed size.

Now about that trick… If you have made Pillowcases from the pattern that has been popular for the last few years… You know the one where the trim piece wraps around the pillowcase fabric and you stitch thelpull the  pillowcase fabric out of the resulting tube… it’s an unusual but effective method and we will use a similar technique for this block butler.  The instructions will tell you all you need to know.
